Mount a tire

I recently purchased some Extra Traction Tires for my Segway i180 HT. The tires came mounted on the old-style rims, so I decided to dismount the tires and put them on my newer i180 rims.

This is the second topic in a series about changing the tires on my Segway. The tools and terms used in this topic are described in greater detail in Mounting Tires on i180 Wheels.

The steps I describe in the following web pages will help you mount a tire on a Segway plastic rim as well as avoid damaging the tire and wheel. We'll start by pulling the outside bead over the rim.
