Segway sells a great hauler for bringing your segway with you on your Truck/Car. The control shaft of the i2 does not work with the hauler, but Segway of the Desert sells an easy to install adapter. Here are the details on how to install the adapter.

Where to buy

You can get a SegHauler from authorized Segway dealers.

Tools Required

  • Hand drill - Cordless if you have one.
  • 1/8" High Speed Steel (HSS) drill bit
  • 1/4" HSS drill bit
  • Phillips Screw Driver
  • 7/16 Box or Open End Wrench
  • Tape measure

Detailed Steps

I find it's much easier to work on the hauler while it's attached to the car/truck so that it's off the ground and secure.

  • Using the 1/8 " bit, drill out the body of both rivets that hold the stock adapter in place
  • Using the 1/4 " bit, drill out the head of both rivets.
  • Remove the old bracket
  • Select whether to use the upper or lower holes.
    • Use upper holes for post Li-Ion battery Haulers
    • Use lower holes for pre Li-Ion battery Haulers
    • If you don’t know which hauler you have, place the Hauler on the floor, and measure its height. If the measurement from floor to the top of the frame is 23-1/2” you have the newer post Li-Ion Hauler. If less then you have the pre Li-Ion Hauler.
  • Using the provided screws attach the new bracket. Make sure the heads of the screws are facing toward the segway, the nuts face the car
