Talk:Torque Specs

I am having a problem finding torque wrenches. I can't find one that covers all the torque settings for the segway. I looked in Sears, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Bike shops, Auto shops, so if someone knows where to find one please let me know and the brand too. I did look on the internet but these are very expensive. How does everyone out there torque their machines?

Another topic: today I was gliding downtown when a bicyclist came from behind. He was dressed for biking and well tanned about 30 years old, approx. 6'2'. He was obviously a seasoned biker.

But I was shocked when he started yelling at me every four letter word you can think of. He said "you lazy M.F. can't you walk?" "you M.F. peice of S." I caught him at the next traffic light and told him he should be ashamed of himself.

My Segway is clearly marked with a large "handicap" placard and a special sticker provided by the Park and Recreation here in Boise. I've had four spine surgeries and can only ambulate standing up with minimal pain. I couldn't believe this guys reaction to seeing a Segway. He had no idea who I was or how I use my Segway. He just went crazy. I told him "Your wrong, I can't walk, but it's obvious that you can't walk either" (he was on a bike). He just circled my Segway and crossed the street at the light change.

But this is only one of hundreds of positive responses I've had. Almost everyone is really excited about the Segway. I was able to glide through the History Museum and glide the Green Belt Pathway along the Boise River before calling it a day. I'm having the time of my life. This is more fun than flying an airplane, skiing, or riding horses (all of which I did before my accident).

The hauler I use is great! I use it everyday. It is a cinch to use and makes it easy to travel with my Segway. I purchased the i2 commuter. I didn't like the Lock that came with it as the holes didn't match up and I couldn't tighten it properly. Also I didn't use the quick release mechanism as it works loose after a while. Everything else works great.

BTW, I purchased a AA battery operated bike light and mounted it to my handelbars and it works great at night. I use the red flasher that came with the commuter on the back of my belt. I was able to get 26.3 miles on a charge which I thought was great considering there only rated at 24 miles.

Have a great glide and if you come to Boise look for several Segways around town. One guy even rents one of his Segways from the 8th street market. This is a great way to see Boise. Tks, Ken
