This model was the same mechanical device as the i167, but shipped without the mechanical parking stand and with enhanced software which allowed for an "electronic parking stand". For this feature to work at it's best, it was advised to have some weight (5 or 10 pounds) in the lower cargo bags. At the time of this writing, no other Segway has shipped with the e-stand feature.

The Segway™ HT e Series features the same performance attributes as our i Series, with several additions that enhance its value for commercial applications. First, it has been equipped with an "e-stand"—an electronic parking stand that allows the unit to balance unattended. This unique feature allows the user to transition on and off the device in the workplace with maximum efficiency. Second, it has robust cargo carrying capacity in three separate storage compartments. These compartments allow a user to handle up to an additional 75 lbs. of cargo, such as tools, supplies, packages, or equipment.
