Why?

The old generation cargo kits are getting hard to come by and they limit the use of a segseat. The never cargo bags also have locks and are more water tight.

The first generation segways (i167-i180) had lower cargo kits that consisted of 8 major pieces:

  • 2 - Lower Uprights
  • 2 - Bag Holders
  • 1 - Horizontal Stabilizer
  • 1 - Control Shaft Bracket
  • 2 - Soft Polypropylene Cargo Bags with Covers

The second generation segways consist of the following:

  • 2 - Cargo Frame Cargo Frames
  • 2 - Cargo Plate Cargo Plates
  • 2 - Givi Hard Case Two Locking Givi Hard Cases

To use the gen2's cargo system, you need only add eight large fender washers.

When you attach the cargo frames to the transmissions, add fender washers in between the transmission and the frame at the two lower mounting points. This will cause the frames to tilt out just a little bit and improve amount of thigh room for the rider.

Attach the cargo plate to the cargo frame per Segway's instructions.

When attaching the wire mounts that hold the bags to the plate, put fender washers between the plate and wire on the two inner most mounting points on each side. This will make the bags tilt just a little more to the outside improving comfort.
